Sight Words

Sight words are words that appear most frequently in text. They should be recognized instantly by readers. Often these words cannot be sounded out and memorization is crucial. Most games start with the most basic lists and then progressively advance to more difficult words. Sight word mastery along with explicit phonics and comprehension instruction leads to strong, capable readers. Here are some apps to help students practice their sight word recognition.
